First things first.  If you have had a personal Pinterest account, convert it to a business account.  If you have a personal Pinterest account that is not anything similar to your business in the boards/content, then I would recommend starting a brand new account.

This is one of the most important steps to do first!  Analytics are a gold mine for you and your business and you want access to that as soon as you can to really get a sense of who you are targeting within Pinterest.

I blogged for years as a Wedding Planner and also used Pinterest for every single client I had to get a sense of their design style and to share ideas for the wedding day design.  I never converted that account to a business account and looking back, I totally should have.  It’s a large account with a huge following, but it lacks the analytics behind it and that was a missed opportunity when Pinterest first started business accounts.   Years later now knowing what I do about Pinterest, start today!  You may not know how to read the analytics or what the difference is, but trust me that you want to switch that over as soon as possible!
