When you are ready to become a Virtual Assistant, or to try it out on top of your job, GO FOR IT! Use your skills to help you build up a business of your own! The first step is speaking it into existence for yourself. Before I had even started talking to potential clients, the idea had been on my head and I had joined Facebook groups to get a feel for the expertise that was needed, and what it all entailed (there are some really great Virtual Assistant communities out there, message me if you need some!) . Not long after that, I saw two different posts from friends on my facebook page looking for a VA. There is something about speaking your goals into existence and looking for those signs!
The other thing to do is to LEARN, LEARN, LEARN! The social media world is constantly changing. I know the media world from when I planned and bought media for Advertising clients is a vastly different market than it is right now. But I’ve stayed up with the times, and I’m on the social media channels as well, so it’s more about learning from those experts in the best ways to grow a business and market it successfully. Some of my favorites to learn from:
Tyler McCall – Want to learn how to make Instagram and some other channels really work for you? And what the algorithm changes are now? Tyler shoots it to you straight! He has a podcast and is constantly sharing tips in his facebook group and on instagram (of course!)
Heather Crabtree – Have a group offer that you think would really benefit others from your experience in say Photography, Wedding Planning, or more? Heather offers some amazing challenges to dig deep into those thoughts and some one-on-one programs as well.
The Virtual Savvy Program – If you want to explore being a Virtual Assistant, this is the place to start. There are a ton of courses on things that I don’t really do that I’ve enjoyed learning about (podcasting for example or setting up an Amazon store!) but also ones for learning the best way to set up your site, processes to put into place for your clients, and many other how-to’s.
